Screening Uninsured Women for Breast Cancer
Today we are so fortunate that there are imaging and diagnostic services to help detect breast cancer. These tests include the mammogram, core biopsy and breast ultrasound. For some women who have no insurance, these screening tests may be unaffordable. That's where the Suzanne Jackson Breast Cancer Fund can help.

About the Fund
The Fund, administered by Desert Cancer Foundation, is named for the late LPGA tournament director Suzanne Jackson, who was a part-time desert resident and a victim of breast cancer. It provides local residents access to screening and diagnostic testing for breast cancer, provided they are uninsured, cannot afford testing and live in the Coachella Valley. The income for participants to qualify is the same as the State of California's Breast Cancer Early Detection Program. However, the Fund does not have an age restriction.

El Fondo, administrado por Desert Cancer Foundation, cual lleva este norbre por la directora del certamen LPGA Suzanne Jackson, ya fallecida, quien fue resdente de desierto y victima del cancer. Permite a las mujeres de la zona tener acceso a las pruebas del exploracion y diagnostico para el cancer del pecho, siempre y cuando no dispongan de ningun tipo de seguro medico, no puedan sufragar el costa del las preuebas y vivan en el Valle del Coachella (Coachella Valley). Los ingresos del las participantes para poder optar este servicio son las mismas que los del Programa de Deteccion Temprano del Cancer de Pecho (Breast Cancer Early Detection Program) del Estado de California. Sin embargo, el Fondo no impone ninguna restriccion de edad.

Available Services
Imaging services are provided at the Comprehensive Breast Center at Desert Regional Medical Center. The scope of services covered by the Fund may include screening and diagnostic mammography, ultrasound, imaging guided biopsies, pathology, education and professional fees specified by the program.

Servicio Disponibles
Los sevicios del imagenes se proporcionan en la Centro Integral de para del Pecho (Comprehensive Breast Center) en el Centro Medicio Regional de Desierto (Desert Regional Medical Center). El ambito de los servicios cubiertos por el Fondo puede abarcar la mamografia de exploracion y diagnostico, la ecografia, la biopsia dirigida por imagenes, la patologia, la educacion y hos honorarios profesionales especificados por el programa.

How to Refer a Patient
Women who are uninsured and live in the Coachella Valley may be referred to the program by a physician or clinic. All patients must have a referring doctor. To refer a patient, call 760-416-4700.

Como Remitir a Una Paciente
Las mujeres qu no disponen de ningun tipo seguro, y que viven en el Valle de Coachella (Coachella Valley), pueden ser remitidas al programa por un medico a una clinica.
